The Boeing 727-100 first flew February 9, 1963 and went into service February 1964. Pan Am ordered 25 B727-121s on February 1, 1965 at $4,110,000 each. The 727 replaced the DC-6B. After Pan Am’s purchase of National Airlines in 1980, they now had a combined fleet of 97 727s. |
